Village life
Life In the Village For Volunteer.
The Tanzanian way of life in Njoro Village is relaxed, welcoming, and community orientated. The people are warm and friendly and take great pleasure in hosting a guest; they prepare food to share and embrace you with ‘Karibu Sana’ (you are very welcome!). The weather is real good and nice in Njoro village, evergreen and a lot of spring; there is always a feeling of friendship as you walk around the village, neighbours meet some village member and children playing beside them. The stores and local restaurant in the village are authentic, personal, and run by the locals, bananas and other fruits hang from the tree during its season, and cooks tend to simmer pots and pans above open fires. Chickens’ leading broods of chicks pluck curiously in the warm African sun.
Despite the beauty in Njoro village, extreme poverty exists all around, many children live in difficult life with their grandparents, to go to school is become problem to them. Also issue of food to some elders become problem. While some orphanages are places of happiness and excitement, much sadness and help are also needed. Much education is needed to improve awareness. Sustainability, women empowerment, and environmental responsibility are also not widely known, so we endeavour to provide solutions for local people. Kilimanjaro Aid Projects plays a vital role in Njoro village and works daily to support the community we are a part of. Contact us for more information.
